Raft late Summer News 2023

What a summer it has been at Raft Clothing. We’ve had Style Consultation Days, Fashion Shows, window decoration competitions and the Barbie movie inspiring all things pink. We hope, at Raft Clothing, that our Company ethos rubs off on all our customers leaving them feeling more and more:

This newsletter/blog is a round up of what’s been happening at Raft this summer and what’s coming up for Autumn. 

New Shop: We’ve had a great opportunity at Leaf Creative Plant Centre in Huntley where a Raft pop up shop started in March for a week- and great news - we are still there! The location is beautiful and a destination for plant lovers and also for coffee lovers and lunchtime treats at the Fernery Restaurant. A real destination venue to uplift and inspire you.

Linens: Our lovely linens with styles from brands such as Cut Loose, Grizas, Italian, Raft’s own ‘Chill’ range and Lily & Me. An ever popular fabric which is durable, breathable, comfy, wears across seasons and is sustainably resourced.

Brands: Our brands are varied and to suit all ages and sizes and we have a fantastic new and utterly gorgeous curvy range from Wasabi Concept which is proving to be really popular.

Fabrics: We have concentrated on brands which are good for the planet with many of the fabrics utilising renewable woods from sustainable forests (ecovera) organic cottons, recycled polyester and recycled bottles. Purposeful and ethical slow fashion with items made to order only is very important to our business moving forward.

Sale: our sale in stores and on line is still going on and there is still some time left to grab incredible bargains.

Silver Jewellery: the new range of fabulous artisan solid silver pieces have proved popular and make amazing presents or a treat for you. 

New Arrivals for Autumn: there are some fab new arrivals in our shops and on line at the moment and even with the unexpected mini heatwave our customers are snapping up some great new designs for the new season. Unusual knitwear, dresses to take you anywhere and effortless chic with new scarves and handbags too.

Customers: A visit to any of our shops is often fun as well as being a great environment to try out new styles and looks. Our lovely trained staff are on hand in all our stores to help you with the best shapes and colours for you. We pride ourselves on customer service and a great in store experience. Our fashion shows are a good way to see real clothes on real people and are a great night out too.  

 RAFT Events 

Raft in Ledbury has started a Friday Social Event on the last Friday of every month in store. So far we have had a Pimms, Canapes & Shopping evening and a  fantastic art evening called 'Pen & Prozecco' where everyone learnt how to draw someone without taking their pen off the paper.

The next Ledbury Friday Social Event event will take place on 29th September 5 - 7 pm with Scarf Tying Demos, Fizz & Nibbles - grab a friend and come and have some hands-on fun, early doors, over a couple of glasses of bubbles with us.

September 14th: Fashion Show with Raft @leafcreative SOLD OUT

September 29th: Raft Friday Social at Raft in Ledbury. Fun fizz and scarf tying demos 5-7pm 

October 12th: Style Consultation Day with Michelle Blake O’Brien at Raft in Ledbury - appointments all Sold Out

October 19th: Raft in Ledbury Autumn/Winter Fashion Show 6-30 pm Tickets £7-50 in store and cash only for Cancer Research UK. To include Fizz and canapés. 

Recipe for Late Summer.

Charred broccoli, lemon and walnut pasta

3 tsp olive oil

i pack tenderstem broccoli 

150g pasta any shape 

2 cloves garlic chopped up

1 tbsp chopped walnuts and pinch chilli flakes 

1 lemon 

Method:

 Drizzle broccoli with tsp olive oil and pop in a fairly hot oven for ten mins until crispy and charring. Cook pasta and drain and keep a cup of pasta water. Heat rest of oils and cook garlic chillies and walnuts for a couple of minutes in a pan. Tip the pasta and broccoli in with lemon and a little reserved pasta water - toss and serve Easy Peasy
